This Week at Wheeler February 6, 2020

Oh hey, 18 Wheelers fans! Some of our best representatives of what's amazing about Wheeler are these folks. They enjoyed TWO standing ovations at the recent Wick Choral Festival and this weekend are off to compete in the quarterfinals of ICHSA, the International Competition of High School A cappella, and need some fan support #GoWheeler #everyoneisaWarrior. Link to buy tickets for the 7 pm show at Galvin Middle School, Wakefield MA. Wear your Wheeler gear and get loud!

The First Line of 7th Graders' Novels from National Novel Writing Month

This Friday (tomorrow), our 7th Grade families are invited to the Farm for our 7th Grade Wheeler Day and celebration of writing --part National Novel Writing Month publishing party; part impromptu, interactive creative workshops; part exploring and playing! In preparation, we thought we would share a few first sentences from our 7th grade writers' novels.

This Week

This Week at Wheeler: One of the greatest things about Wheeler is seeing our students' dedication, interest, and curiosity come to life! This week, we eagerly anticipate the Providence Children's Film Festival and the screening of one Wheeler student's film in the Youth Filmmakers Showcase. We watched in awe as the Wheeler Dance Company leapt, plied, and twirled across the stage at their Winter Recital, and we gave a big shout out to our campus Math-letes and Writers who have earned some spectacular honors this week. We welcome a new member of our community to lead the Breakthrough Providence Program. We engaged in the most critical step of the writing process, as our 4th grade shared their personal narratives with upper school students, and one of our 6th graders reminds us that "Kindness is like a present. It brings joy and happiness to whoever receives it." Anna Cherepowich #KindnessRocks

Wow, we're in a second paragraph this week! Our Alumni news is booming, with two huge announcements, a top prospect for the 2021 MLB Draft, and a Preseason All-American Honorable Mention. Also, our Alumni Office was across the country visiting alumni in LA #Wheelercelebsighting!
