Diego Velázquez was a Spanish painter who was born in Seville on June 6th, 1599 and died in Madrid on August 6th, 1660. He was personal painter of the king Philip IV and one of the most important painters in history. His most famous paintings are La rendición de Breda, that shows the end of a war; Las Meninas where we can see a self-portrait of him and Las hilanderas.
