Ruminant Nutrition Cows haVe four stomachs?!

We will be looking at the four main compartments of a cow's stomach.
The rumen is the first stop for the food. Fermentation takes place here! It's the largest compartment.

The Recticulum is the second stop! It is coded in a honeycomb texture. It is known as the hardware trap.

Third Stop!! The omasum!! Here water is absorb! It looks like a wadded sheet.

Wait... so do cows and people have anything in common?!

Well of course! The abomasum is the one true stomach of rumens. It acts just like ours!
