Our early morning hike to the Franz Joseph Glacier started in an unexpected place, essentially a rain forest.
This limited view of the glacier was still beautiful. The clouds hide the rest of the glacier and this is as close as we could get due to poor weather later in the day.
The following day, on our drive from Greymouth to Queenstown we were also able to stop and see Fox Glacier. No paragliding allowed though.
