MALALA YOUSAFAZAI

Malala Yousafzai is a girl who risked death to defend her right to go to school. She was born on 12th July 1997 in Swat valley in Northwest Paskistan. She lived there with her parents and two brothers. She was educated by her father . Malala loved learning ,and at first she wanted to become a doctor but her father encouraged her to become an activist for girls education. Her ideas and opinion were formed from childhood when she learn to value education.

In 2009 the Taliban were in control of Swat valley .They banned television and music. Malala wrote a blog for the BBC about her life in an area of Pakistan controlled by extremists. Women were forced to cover their faces and wear Bukars.

She started doing interviews on radio and appearing on TV, so her real identity was revealed and gradually she became a symbol of the fight for equal education and human right. The Taliban published death threats against her.

On 9th October 2012, she was travelling by bus with school friends, when a man arrived and asked which of them was Malala. Nobody spoke, but they all looked at Malala. The man short her and one of the bullet hit her side of head. She had five hours opreation to reconstruct her skull and restore her hearing . On 15 October she was transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. On 12 July 2013, 16th birthday, she spoke at the United Nation to call for WORLD WIDE ACCESS TO EDUCATION

On 12 July 2013, on her 16th birthday , she spoke at United Nation to call for "WORLD WIDE ACCESS TO EDUCATION. She said TODAY IS MALALA DAY ,BUT MALALA DAY IS NOT MY DAY .TODAY IS THE DAY OF EVERY WOMAN, EVERY GIRL, EVERY BOY WHO RAISED THEIR VOICE FOR THEIR RIGHT."

In 2014, at the age of 17, she recevied the Nobel Peace Prize. She was the youngest Noble Prize laureate in the world. The official motivation was FOR HER STRUGGLE AGAINST THE SUPPRESSION OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE AND FOR THE RIGHT OF ALL CHILDREN TO EDUCATION. She contiues to campaign for education ,taking messages all over the world. Malala says that education is the only answer to poverty. without education, there are no dreams for ths future.
