Nonconformity

“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” -Walden, Henry David Thoreau
When Nicki Minaj showed up at the 2011 MTV music awards she chose to dress up in her own style instead of following traditional dress styles. Nicki Minaj had her own idea of this new style of her own she got so many negative comments towards this. Many people said it was a bizarre outfit created by Dubai designer Furne One reminiscent of ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’ complete with a face mask and the entire female cast of Jersey shore. She was criticized in many ways. Nicki yet doesn't care she says everyone has i bit of there own taste and meanings of the way they represent there selves.Just look at this accessory EXPLOSION. There's so much going on here. It's as if a Nicki Minaj has come to life forcing you to stare, trance-like, into her metallic prism peplum while thinking about nothing but dancing ice cream cones and creepy-happy dolls. Including her music she say " I didnt want my music to be seen as a electronic culture; i just wanted them to see it as a part of music"
Self Reliance
Self- Reliance Self Reliance: “Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string”(Thoreau).
In an interview, Kristen Stewart said that she believed in not thinking about what others say and to just do what you want to do. She says “For me, the most attractive thing in a person is drive -– genuine impulse expressed for the sake of it, not for perception,” she tells CR Fashion Book. “It’s a compulsion, and I share that. It’s indescribable. It’s just a burn. You can sense it pretty instantly, this innate curiosity, because not everyone has it. That’s what I’m fucking attracted to.” She express her feelings towards others. The 24-year-old actress, who is set to appear in “Anesthesia” and “Equals” this year, doesn’t seem to mind what people think about her, as she’s pretty confident in who she is and what she’s all about.Shows that shes all about self reliance.
Importance of Nature
Nature: “In the woods we return to reason and faith. Their I feel that nothing can befall me in life -no disgrace, no calamity….”(Emerson)
An example of importance of nature would be Shailene Woodley for getting arrested in 2016 for the Dakota pipeline incident. She stood up for the environment and put the environment first before herself. She says “My religion is the Earth, man. I believe in trees.”She has so many odd, natural remedies that she absolutely swears by, and, let's be real, she looks AH-MAZING, so she's clearly doing something right. She has also said I never took rejection personally, because acting wasn’t the only important thing in my life. I’m really into environmentalism–I feel a connection to nature.”“I struggle in real life trying to balance my natural connection to the earth and the somewhat materialistic side of the industry I am in…” For the love of God. And I always, always hate when actors romanticize the life of peasants… “Oh, I would be an herbalist, or I would open a lovely little fruit stand, if only I wasn’t so famous and rich, then I too could be of the earth!”
Favoring Intuition over Reason
“A man is relieved and gay when he has put his heart into his work and done his best; but what he has said or done otherwise, shall give him no peace. It is a deliverance which does not deliver.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson
An example of this would be Stephen King because he once was poor and didn’t think he could make it but after all his hard work he is one of the most famous writer with top selling books. He has said “Everyone loves something for nothing...even if it costs everything" you fight for what you believe in. He has also mentioned "The most important things are the hardest to say, because words diminish them. Fiction is the truth inside the lie. Monsters are real, and ghosts are real too. They live inside us, and sometimes, they win" In other words don't let bad things get to you negativity always stay positive and keep moving on with life.
Simplified Life
That man is rich whose pleasures are the cheapest.” -Journals 1856,” Henry David Thoreau
Leonardo is one of the most humble actors of our time. Unlike his co-workers he doesn’t own a jet or a host of cars, he uses his money wisely and not just on wasteful things in life.Leonardo DiCaprio who rose to stardom after the release of the much acclaimed Titanic in 1997, only owns one car – a Toyota Prius. He has said that saving his money allows him to choose what he wants as an actor and to help others who are in need. His major and most expensive purchase was an island near Belize amounting to $2.5 million. Other than not, DiCaprio lives his life in modesty.
