Dear Lynch Families,
Thank you for supporting Comprehensive Distance Learning! We are proud to share with all of you that our current attendance rate is 92%! Thank you for persevering with us through all the challenges that Covid throws our way. Your partnership is so important to the success of your child's education. Thank you for your support! Please read below for updates and new information:
Conferences will be the week of Nov. 2-8. Our goal is to conference with 100% of our families. All conferences will be virtual this year. Classroom teachers will be in contact to schedule an appointment or you can give Beth (541-923-4876) a call to schedule them. This is an important time for you to hear about your child’s progress and have one on one time with his/her teacher. We look forward to this time each year!
Chess for Success:
I would like to invite all 3rd-5th grade Lynch Cubs to participate in Chess for Success! It will be virtual this year. Our coaches are Ms. Rhodes and Mrs. Evans. To participate, go to our website and fill out the digital permission slip. Once your form is received, Chess for Success will email you instructions to register for the online program.
In your welcome back letter, I shared with you the following Returning to School Safeguards. I will share more information with you as we get closer to returning in-person.
5th Graders - Virtual Camp Tamarack

As you know we are at the mercy of the Covid metrics. All of us want our students back at Lynch as soon as possible. We are all here to support you and your family. News from Ms. Vicki:
Dear Lynch students and families,
Hello from Ms. Vicki in our MA Lynch Library! The books and I miss you all so much but we have exciting things happening in the library. Your teachers will be sharing a fun way to explore our library using Destiny Discover. You can find ebooks and audiobooks on Storyline Online, EPIC, National Geographic for Kids and Deschutes Public Library. You can access this by going to destiny.redmondschools.org . Your child’s username and password is the same login as they use for their chrome. It will be gradyear, first initial of first name and all of their last name for login and first two letters of last name and student ID # for password.
We are a Library Linx school, which means we collaborate with Deschutes Public Library. You can go online to their website and place holds on books. For now, if you place holds on books, you will have to go to the public library to pick them up or you may check out ebooks and read them online. When we are back in school, you may have them delivered to our school library.
If you do not already have a library card, you can now apply online using our Destiny Discover website or by going to deschuteslibrary.org. An adult will also have to have a current card to apply online. Other options include stopping by the library in person or stop at school, fill out an application, and I will take to the library for you.
Looking forward to hearing what books you are reading!
NeighborImpact Head Start is still accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year. Please go to the NeighborImpact.org website to apply.
NeighborImpact's OHP Assister program is still available to the community. In this time of change many families may now be eligible for benefits. We encourage families to contact us through our website https://www.neighborimpact.org/ if they need help filling out the OHP applications.
If families are struggling with rent and electric bills we encourage them to apply for assistance as there is a waiting list already starting.

October 12-16 is National School Lunch Week! School lunches offer healthy foods to help students be better learners. Pick up a sack breakfast/lunch every planned school day from 7AM-8AM or 10:30AM-11:30AM curbside at Lynch. Remind your student, “choose many colorful foods” and “try something new!” Use MyPlate to help you talk about eating balanced meals at home and at school.
