College Library has a dedicated podcasting space on the second floor, equipped with a recorder/mixer and professional microphones. The space is suitable for interviews or small group projects and can be reserved by using their online reservation system.

DesignLab (Consultation and Space)
DesignLab is a central campus hub for digital assignments, offering conceptual support to students. Think of it as the writing center for digital media assignments. DesignLab has modern lab space and is located in College Library.
Audio Editing Software
Audacity
Audacity is a free multitrack audio editing software. It's cross-platform and there's good documentation available. It takes time and practice to use it well. For simple recording and clip trimming, there are easier tools.
Distribution
SWAY
Microsoft Sway is part of the Microsoft Office 365 suite of tools and is a convenient way to present multimedia.
Canvas
Students can submit audio as part of assignments and discussions using the media recorder or by sharing a link to a third party tool like Kaltura Mediaspace or Google Drive. For a shared experience, students can contribute their audio submissions to a wiki-enabled Canvas page. Instructors may elect to collect individual or group submissions and then organize and share the materials.
Google Drive
Audio files can be shared in a no frills but effective way by setting up a shared folder in Google Drive or similar campus file sharing service.

The McBurney Disability Resource Center has information for both students and instructors that may impact how a student digital media assignment is designed and how materials are prepared so they are accessible.
Transcription and Captioning Tools
Consider integrating the work of transcription into a digital media assignment. The landscape of technologies is always shifting, but there are a growing number of technologies that may be appropriate for students.
Kaltura Mediaspace has a built-in auto-captioning and a caption editing tool that can be used with audio and video files. A block of text can be copied from Kaltura Mediaspace and repurposed elsewhere.
