Native american teams, TEAM NAMES and mascots By calogero bRadley

I do not think teams and schools should be allowed to use Native American mascots because Native Americans were stereotyped.

According to the article, Newsela says, "Many Native Americans are upset by the Redskins' name. It is a very old word. It is seen as an unkind word for a Native American."The quote refers back to and supports my claim because it states the stereotype against Native Americans. The stereotype is stated "as an unkind word for a Native American."

This mascot and team name is offensive to Native Americans

I don't think teams and schools should be able to use Native American mascots because they are made to look bad.

According to the Newsela article, in Ray Halbritter's words, he says, "The words have destructive effects on our people and Native peoples everywhere." This quote supports my claim because the words used in team names make Native Americans look bad. They give them red faces, and they don't look normal as team names or mascots.
