The Great Barrier Reef is home to hundreds on species of hexacorals (hard corals) and octocorals (sea pens, blue corals, soft corals, sea fans).
All ocean plants have the same 3 adaptations- combine sunlight and nutrients from the water for energy, can move to obtain maximum sunlight, and pollen floats around ocean so the plant can reproduce.
Ocean currents are responsible for the regulation of local weather conditions. Without oceans the earth would be a dry, lifeless planet.
The Great Barrier Reef average temperature is 29 degrees Celsius, which is 84.2 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Great Barrier Reef is a great place to visit and explore. Come along on the Ocean Journey cruise ship and experience the wonders of the world with us!
