US Intervention in Somalia 1992-1994

  • The United States trying to keep peace and not wanting the chaos to get out of control decided to get involved.
  • The US decided to get involved by going through the United Nations program, United Nations Operation in Somalia.
  • On October 3rd, 1993, A battle lied between Aideed's forces and United States soldiers.
  • Leading to two Black Hawk helicopters shot down, 18 American soldiers left dead and hundreds of Somalis killed.
