Saints of Shawnee Alliance,
It is a blessed time to serve at Shawnee Alliance! We continue to praise God for all He is doing in our lives, through our ministries, in our community, and around the world. This edition of the Snapshot will have a lot of events and activities. Wednesday Activity Night is off to a soaring start, we are collecting a metric ton of food for the Cridersville Food Pantry, and we are preparing for Trunk-N-Treat, Upward, Centershot, and many more ministries. As we prepare for the busyness of the school year, I want to keep one thing in front of us: the need to continuously make time for God. My prayer for each of our families, my own included, is that we make time to experience God in corporate worship, to grow together as a church family in small groups, to find time to pray together as families, and for each of us to take hold of our own individual faith so that we are constantly growing closer to Christ.
How do we find time for all that!? We don't find time - we would have to make time. One lesson that God has brought to my heart since April is the constant need to prioritize what is most important in my life. While we're all eager to leave 2020 behind us, let us also be sensitive as the Holy Spirit continues to teach us (Romans 8:26-28). We are continuing our series The Armor of God. Throughout the series, we have been and will continue to seek God's wisdom in preparing for the spiritual battle in which we all participate. I encourage you to check our YouTube channel where we will keep this series available. Being prepared for spiritual warfare in our own homes is vital and worth devoting time to.
Whether you are continuing to join us online or in-person I am blessed to continue this journey together.

Providence, Rhode Island Update
Robert Childs from Envision Providence has recently shared multiple blessings from his site:
“Your trip here [at the end of June] was so productive! After you left, we planted lots of different vegetables in the new plot. With some of the cucumbers we made pickles with the kids from the Kids Club. We have been giving a lot of the produce to neighbors and refugees.”
“We bought a van but haven’t taken delivery of it. Your church will be the first to see it once we get it in our possession! It is such a blessing! We even took a bunch of the kids from the Kids Club to look at it with us. It really felt like the Lord used your church to bring blessing to our community and in a way that will let us share the gospel more in the future.”
“We partnered with International Alliance Church and Centro Cristiano de Adoracion a few weeks ago to do a large (at least for us) outdoor service. We have had about 10-15 people but had 62 at our outdoor service including all kinds of people that came in from the street and we even had neighbors listening to the message on their porches.”
Rob Childs and his family will be back with us here at Shawnee Alliance during the service and other different connection points on Sunday, October 18, 2020. Please save the date and look for more information on the activities that day coming soon!
Bible Reading Plan
The number one habit to bring transformation to your life is reading your Bible. You will get to know Jesus on a deeper level and learn wisdom for your everyday choices. You can find a free Bible in the Lobby. Take one today or download the YouVersion app on your phone. Use this simple SOAP format to guide your interaction with God's Word.
- Scripture. Take your time reading each chapter and allow God to speak to you.
- Observation. What do you see God doing in the Scripture? What is God saying to you?
- Application. Ask yourself how you can apply this to your life right now.
- Prayer. Communicate with God and ask Him to help you apply this to your life.
