The Skiathos Coast

Our summer holiday this year was to Skiathos. I kept telling myself this was a family holiday but after 3 days of doing very little I hired a quad bike and set the alarm for 05:30 each morning to get some sunrise images. My first exploration got me high on a hillside overlooking old Skiathos town with sunrise over Skopelos.

The following evening we went to Agia Eleni beach and watched the sun set. Both sunrise and sunset were usually cloudless which didn't make for the most stunning shots but there was a hint of cloud on this evening.

After a day exploring on the quad bike I finally found a great place for sunrise (just to the right of Xanemos beach) which looked out over Skopelos island-behind which the sun rose. The rest of the shots here are taken from that beach.

And lastly, just because everyone seems to head to the airport to get these shots, a couple of images of planes taking off just over the heads of onlookers (and if you visit Skiathos this is some of the best free entertainment you'll find!!)
