Food, Drink & Hospitality Network Cwm a Mynydd

Hello! 2017 is well and truly underway, and us at Team Cwm a Mynydd are really excited and proud to be working on a number of food and drink producer projects we are working on. Over the winter we have been busily working with a number of food and drink makers and hospitality providers to try to get more local produce available locally. We think that this ties in with the 2017 Visit Wales Year of Legends, because as you all know, our locally made food and drink is pretty legendary. We've had some success too, as the Visit Caerphilly Centre will soon be stocking locally made honey from local Social Enterprise Sirhowy Valley Honey bee Company, and we are looking to add to this with locally sourced drinks too. If you are interested in trying to get your product onto some local shelves, please do get in touch (rdp@caerphilly.gov.uk) with the team here at Cwm a Mynydd and we'll see how we can help. the same goes if you are looking to stock locally too.

New year brings new opportunities and this year is no different. We have teamed up with Visit Caerphilly to host a 'taste of Caerphilly' area at the Caerphilly Food Festival and we are looking for traders from Caerphilly County Borough to get involved. Space is limited and if you'd like to express you're interest in joining us, get in touch (rdp@caerphilly.gov.uk) and ask for an expression of interest form.

New for 2017, Cwm a Mynydd are working alongside Caerphilly County Borough Countryside Services to bring all things tasty and local to Parc Cwm Darran this September. A fusion of food, fun and the arts, this food festival will be a feast for all the senses (food for the soul as well as the belly) seeing local artists and performers sharing this beautiful valley with the public and producers. If you are a producer of local produce from South East Wales, either established or you are just starting your producer enterprise journey, give us a call or drop us an email (rdp@caerphilly.gov.uk) and we'll send you an expression of interest form. Cwm a Mynydd have teamed up with amazing folks working at Cywain to support new producers to sell at this new food festival - so it can be your first as well as ours!

Is it too early to talk Christmas yet? Well, as we've already mentioned it, the lovely folks over at the beautiful Llechwen Hall have been in touch asking us to spread the word about their Christmas Fair! Already huge supporters of local food, drink and generally all things rural, Llechwen Hall are looking for makers and producers of the best local produce to join them at their 2017 Christmas fair. If you are interested, get in touch.

Lastly, we know we've moved on from the Year of Adventure to the Year of Legends, but we wanted to take the chance to share a collaboration we worked on last year between local food producers, rural businesses and our partners across South East Wales. Team Cwm a Mynydd and Visit Caerphilly were suitably chuffed with this amazing video, and wanted to give you all the chance to see it.

Don't forget, if you have any ideas or want to get in touch about the work of us here at Cwm a Mynydd please give us a call (01443 838632), email (rdp@caerphilly.gov.uk) or have a nose at our website or facebook or twitter! Let's get ready to Rural as we say... All the best, Team CaM.
