The Pre-Med club regularly provides many opportunities to students that are interested in Pre-Professional careers. They attend medical school tours, volunteer, and attend workshops. They also invite physicians, graduate students, and other professionals to talk to members about pursuing a career in their fields.
Many of their events and meetings were cancelled and put online this past semester. Pre-Med has continued to meet through Zoom and continued many of their efforts of encouraging students to continue to volunteer through these times. They also started a COVID mask making project every Wednesday on Zoom from 6:00pm-9:00pm. These masks will be donated to the Hope Clinic in Ypsilanti. You can email the club at firstname.lastname@example.org and they will send you the link to participate.
Interviewing three of the board members Jennifer Nguyen, Cassie Haberstroh, and Lissette Rosas about Pre-Med they all talked about how much they enjoy the volunteering experiences they gain from this club. “My favorite memory during my time in Pre-Med Club would be volunteering at the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk this past Fall semester. Just being able to be at the event supporting the cause was a rewarding experience for me.” says Jennifer who is the club's secretary. “My favorite memory has to be when I and other members volunteered with The Magic of Christmas Foundation. We helped wrap presents for children coming from low-income families. It was a memorable experience and something I would like to do again!” says Lissette, the club's president.
