Meet your NSCC award recipients for 2021-2022 SW Weeks Construction Ltd.

The decision to embark on post-secondary education is huge. With many new challenges presented over the past year and a half, it's no small feat that NSCC students have remained motivated and committed. So often, receiving a student award is the very thing that changes an education from a dream into reality, and you are making this possible.

Your award is creating an opportunity for a brighter future through education. Along with the financial support provided, students feel encouraged knowing someone in the community has invested in their education and career goals. We often hear from students that your generosity inspires them to work harder, with hopes that someday they too will be in the position to assist students and positively impact their communities, just as you have done for them.

Thank you for believing in NSCC students. You are leading the way.

Weeks Construction Community Award

Janet L.

Electronic Engineering Technician, Pictou Campus

"This award will help me to focus my time and energy on my education. As a mom of three, and a dedicated partner, allowing my learning to be a priority can be a challenge. This award will help ease the financial strain, and accompanied stress, felt when trying to ensure my children are cared for when I am at school. Making it through my second year successfully will give me the confidence to consider continuing my education with NSCC at a campus that offers Electronic Engineering Technology, to help expand my wheelhouse. I am proud to be receiving my education from NSCC. Thank you for the award."

Tanner H.

Social Services, Pictou Campus

"Being the recipient of this award is twofold. It has given me a boost to my confidence that I was chosen to be the recipient. It has given me extra motivation to prove I was the right choice. It also gives me some financial freedom to relax and focus more on my studies and not worry about paying for extra things and needing to take on extra shifts at work which in turn take away from study time. It's a win-win situation, a confidence boost and financial freedom to excel in my field of choice. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the donor of this award. It is through community support like this that individuals like myself with learning disabilities and other individual struggles are able to succeed and give back to the community."

Thank you for leading the way for NSCC students.
