Documenting real life is my passion.
Is every surface of your home and car sticky and covered in crumbs? Do you count down the hours till bedtime but then start missing your kids' adorable faces after they finally fall asleep? Do you ever get the feeling that despite how hard (and chaotic and messy and draining and again-- sticky) this stage of life is, that these are the "good old days" you'll look back on and long for one day?
When I look through my parents' photos from my childhood, I skip right over the fancy professional studio portraits with the forced smiles (sorry, Mom and Dad!). Instead, I love to study the photos that show either context, little details like the furniture in the apartment we moved out of when I was 6, or real emotion, like the look of pure joy on my face to have my grandparents visiting me from the other side of the world.
Life with kids goes by way too quickly.
What is it that you want to remember about your life right now?
Is it your weekend morning routine—the kids waking up with bedhead and climbing into bed with you for cuddles? Or your usual Saturday morning pancake feast? The whole family piling into the minivan to go to your favorite pizza place for dinner? Or your favorite park for family scooter or bike rides? It's these activities that we do over and over as families that make up our memories. Images of these simple moments can capture and preserve the feeling of this time in your life to look back on for years to come.
I'll capture both the ordinary and extraordinary moments, the relationships, the interactions, and the details of your family and home and turn them into art that you'll love.
My style is photojournalistic/ documentary. You don’t have to worry about telling your kids to behave well, fighting with them to wear uncomfortable dress clothes, or begging them to say “cheese”; the more comfortable and normal they feel, the better the images will be. So wear whatever you normally wear, do whatever you normally do, don’t clean your house anymore than you would for a good friend, and let me capture the love, the silliness, the beauty, the mess, the laughter, and the tears.
I offer three different session lengths. Which one is right for you?
All sessions include a pre-session consultation to discuss what you love about your life and kids right now and brainstorm locations and/ or activities for your session so that we can capture authentic images of your unique family.
About two weeks after your session, I'll send you a link to a private online gallery of your images for you to download and share with friends and family.
Day In The Life
$3895
Full day (up to 10 hours) documentary style coverage of your real life (from breakfast to bath time, I'll capture it all and when you see the images, you will fall in love with your family all over again).
The session fee includes my time and talent, a gorgeous 8x12 inch custom keepsake album, and an online gallery of low-res web-ready images for sharing on social media.
Album upgrades, wall art, and high-res digital files are available a la carte.
Half Day In The Life
As of April 2018, I am no longer offering this session length.
One Hour Session
$400
1 hour loosely directed photo session at your home or a location of your choice (generally about 15 minutes of portraits, then 45 minutes of play and fun!)
