FUNDRAISE WITH Battle Cancer Madrid 2019

Our mission is to inspire, support and unite people with one goal: kicking cancer into the dust

WE NEED YOU, Madrid!

We can’t wait to see you all crush our WODs at Battle Cancer Madrid! But before we stand together to celebrate, we need to work towards the most important part of Battle Cancer - raising funds so that Spanish cancer charities can continue their incredible work.

You can choose to raise money for any Spanish cancer charity. This is the charity you enter when signing up your team. If you’re not sure which charity you’d like to fundraise for, you can pick our official partner charity in Spain, which is the AECC (Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer). They will have a team present on the day so that you can donate directly and see them for a chat about their life saving work.

If you're travelling to Madrid from overseas and would like to fundraise for a cancer charity from your home country, no problem! Just create a JustGiving page and link it to your chosen cancer charity.

We ask that your team aims to raise at least €200. That’s just €50 per person! Ask friends, family, colleagues, and your gym community to help by donating or sponsoring you to compete.

You can also hold bake sales, raffles, sponsored WODs, gym events and more to help raise funds. Get creative and see how much you can raise!

The most important thing to remember is that Battle Cancer doesn’t handle any money. Your money goes directly to your chosen charity.

To fundraise for AECC, simply follow the link below to create your own ‘My Challenge Against Cancer’ page which can be linked to Battle Cancer Madrid and shared online.

To fundraise for any other Spanish cancer charity, download the Bizum app to directly donate your funds to your charity using their unique code which can be found on your charity's website or through Bizum.

If you’re raising loose coins and notes we advise that you nominate a team spokesperson to collect the money, bank it, and then transfer it via your My Challenge Page or Bizum app.

To help us track how much Battle Cancer teams are raising, please send us your total with a screenshot of the donation to info@battlecancer.com by 12/10/19

Remember, if you're fundraising for a UK cancer charity, you can fundraise via our link with JustGiving here.

If you prefer, each of your team members and spectators can simply donate to the AECC team directly on the day.

  1. Choose your cancer charity
  2. Fundraise and donate via My Challenge Against Cancer or Bizum
  3. Compete at Battle Cancer and let us know your fundraising total!

Start fundraising as soon as you sign up and continue after you compete - you will have two weeks after the Battle Cancer event to keep raising money before you donate your final figure. Remember to email us your fundraising total to info@battlecancer.com so that we can calculate how much our Battle Cancer Madrid teams have raised for incredible causes.

Want to hear the process in Spanish? Our friend, Juliana, has recorded a video which breaks it down for you in Spanish:

Some of our teams have smashed our targets by getting creative with their fundraising. From bake sales and pub quizzes to fancy dress hero WODs and shaving their heads, think about what you, your team and your community can do to raise as much money as possible for your chosen charity in the lead up to the Battle Cancer Madrid event.

Why not check out our previous workouts so that your whole community can get taste of the fun Battle Cancer suffering!? Take a look at Dublin's here.

We can't wait to see your fundraising efforts. Be sure to tag us in your photos and videos so that we can follow you on your journey leading up to Battle Cancer Madrid 2019.

A huge thank you from all of us at Battle Cancer for supporting our event and battling together to kick cancer into the dust. See you on the comp floor!
