Jake Hallowell, Delsea, Sr /Linebacker exemplified Delsea toughness and finished with 83 total tackles, including eight for loss, and also forced and recovered a fumble. Four-year varsity contributor also started at tight end and helped the Crusaders reach fifth straight sectional championship game.

Of the five senses, smell may be his sharpest. It has nothing to do with Sunday dinner cooking on the stove, not the unmistakable aroma coming off the grill on a warm summer evening. For Jake Hallowell, it’s the ability to sniff out the football and find his way to whoever has it in their hands.“A lot of it comes back to effort,” he says. “If you put 100 percent effort into it, you’re going to be around the ball.My dad taught me a lot and showed me that if I’m going to do something, put 100 percent effort into it. Anything I’m going to do, especially if I want to be good at it, I’m definitely going to put in the effort.”
