Aerobic Reaction

C6H12O6 + 6O2 --->6CO2 + 6H2O This reaction makes 38 ATP in total from the three stages Glycolysis then Krebs cycle and lastly Electron transport chain

Glycolysis : A single glucose is broken down into 2 pyruvate this results in 2 ATP per glucose. This reaction occurs in the Cytoplasm and occurs in all organisms

Krebs Cycle : located in the Matrix of the Mitochondria Pyruvate is broken down into CO2, NADH and FADH2 is made input Pyruvate. Used by all aerobic Organisms. This is all done under Aerobic Conditions.

Electron Transport chain : Also known as oxidative Phosphorylation. Happens in the Cristae of the Mitochondria. high energy electrons from the krebs cycle are used in the ETC. Oxygen is a reactant and water is a product. ETC makes 34 ATP

Cellular Respiration has a great importance because it can make 38 ATP from 1 single glucose molecule
