men's indoor track & field 2018-19 Season preview

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men’s track and field team will begin its 2018-19 indoor season on December 4th by hosting a home meet against Trinity and Connecticut College. The Cardinals are coming off of strong performances in both the indoor and outdoor campaigns.

During the 2017-18 season, the men’s squad saw two top-nine finishes at the New England Division III Indoor Championship, a 17th-place finish at the New England Division III Outdoor Championship, as well as an individual fourth-place finish at the Open New England Outdoor Championship meet. The squad will look to build upon those successes in the 2018-19 campaign.

head coach walter curry's thoughts

“The Wesleyan men’s track and field team is a very young team this year. With only three seniors, the men’s group is going to have to be prepared and have mental toughness to navigate through the season. We do have a lot of talent, especially within our underclassmen, but they wil have to learn and grow on the fly as the teams will compete through very competitive indoor and outdoor schedules. Our goal every season is to be very competitive at the New England Division III Indoor Championship, and carry that momentum into the Outdoor NESCAC Championship. This gives us a chance to put up as many points as possible in one of the toughest conference meets in the nation.”
