Before this play I didn't know the Constans Theatre existed, so I was excited to explore a new area of the campus. The last theatre I had been to, not including a movie theater, was my high school's auditorium. The theatre was a smaller than I had expected, however, I actually enjoyed the fact that is was smaller. It made the play more intimate and more personal. With a large theater comes more distraction and less connection. Being closer to the actors allows one to absorb the drama and intensity throughout the course of the play. My seat specifically was in the middle of the rows off to the far right. The actors occasionally came to extended parts of the stage on the sides, allowing us to get a closer look. I enjoy when the actors come in the audience because the closer they are, the more real they seem as the character.
Place really affects the "good life" because it evokes emotion. For example, the football stadium can evoke excitement and happiness, whereas the library might evoke a more serious and focused mindset. It is important in the pursuit of the good life that we spend our time at places we enjoy. It's only a waste of time if we continually go to places that we enjoy, but with that being said going to certain settings are worth the discomfort. We can grow and learn from the discomfort and obstacles we face in life.
