School in Session on Monday, March 20th

Monday, March 20th will be used as a make-up day for the school closure that occurred on Monday, January 9th due to water damage the district's IT and mechanical systems. If you have questions, please contact your child's school.

Jeffersonville H.S. Auditorium Open House

The grand re-opening of the newly renovated Jeffersonville High School auditorium will be held on Saturday, February 25th from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The public is invited and encouraged to attend to tour the new state of the art auditorium.

The Jeffersonville High School Theater Department will present "The Wizard of Oz" beginning next Thursday. The show will include 112 munchkins from GCCS elementary schools. The show runs March 2nd-4th at 7:30 p.m. and March 5th at 2:30 p.m. Call (812) 282-6601 to purchase your tickets today!

Elementary Boys' Basketball Championship

GCCSchools will host the 2017 Elementary Boys' Basketball Championship on Saturday, February 25th at Jeffersonville High School's Johnson Arena. Thomas Jefferson Elementary and Wilson Elementary will tip-off at 11:00 a.m. Good luck to the Tigers and the Wildcats!

Pennies for Patients at Bridgepoint Elementary

Congratulations to Bridgepoint Elementary School for raising $4,159.62 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through their Pennies for Patients program. Since 1994, millions of dollars have been raised in pennies and other spare change by more than 10 million elementary, middle and high school students throughout the country. Funds are collected over a three-week period and the class that collects the most chage receives a pizza party. This program provides service learning, character education and philanthropy experience where students gain the unique experience of helping thousands in their fight against blood cancers.

Preschool Application for 2017-18 School Year Now Open

Greater Clark County Schools offers preschool in each elementary building. Morning sessions are from 9:00 to 11:30 and afternoon classes are from 1:00 to 3:30. The preschool program serves children with special needs and children from low income who are eligible for the Early Education Matching Funds Grant (EEMG). There are also a limited number of slots available for other students with priority give to children who narrowly missed the cut-off age for Kindergarten.

In order to be eligible for Greater Clark preschool, your child must be 4 years of age by August 1, 2017. Children who are 5 by that date are eligible for Kindergarten. Children must attend the preschool at their home school, transfers are not granted. The fee for preschool is $150 for the year and parents must provide transportation. If your family qualifies for the EEMG grant, the fee is waived and transportation is provided. Click here to visit the GCCSchools website for more information!
