Third Grade

Third Graders are taking their Unit 7 Math test this week. We have been immersed in fractions. Some of us are working on research for a writing assignment and some of us are completing end-of-year assessments, as the 4th marking period is in full swing. It's so important to continue to memorize the basic multiplication facts - we are recognizing the fact families as we compare fractions and find equivalent fractions. Students are realizing the importance of having those basic facts at your fingertips to assist with number stories, fractions, measurements, finding fractions on number lines, and more.

Fourth Grade

This school year is just flying by! As you know the 4th graders recently took their Unit 6 math test. You can see their scores and review their tests on their Google Classrooms. Tomorrow they will be taking their Cumulative test for this unit. You can use their review packet, Student Journal and Home Links books to help them prepare for this test.

In Science we'll be finishing up Investigation 2 by early next week. We will be testing on both Investigation 1 and 2 on Wednesday, 5/5/21. The students have notes and a study guide to help them prepare for this test as well.

In writing the students are formulating opinions on topics they feel strongly about. They will be writing an editorial regarding their topics. Ask them to tell you about some of the things they feel strongly about.

As you know PSSA testing begins the week after next. In preparation, we've been practicing sample questions so they feel comfortable taking these tests. You can help by making sure they get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast!
