What does your average day look like?

I schedule and coordinate interviews when we are recruiting for open positions, support the pre-employment to post-offer process, input data in ADP, which is Yuba Water's human resources management software, and maintain record upkeep.

Have your essential duties changed since COVID-19? If so, what has changed?

The Human Resources team has done pretty well maintaining status quo through COVID-19, so not much has changed. As many can relate, instead of being in-person we do a lot of phone calls, Zoom and Teams meetings to stay connected.

What do you enjoy most about working for Yuba Water?

What I enjoy most about working for Yuba Water is the mission and vision behind what we do. It’s very easy to get caught up in the mundane, but when you take a step back and look at the bigger picture, it’s pretty awesome to see the impact we're having on the community!

Tell us an unusual story or experience you’ve had while working for Yuba Water.

One time, there was a baby bat perched midday against the wall outside by the table/bench area at our F Street office, which was discovered by coworker, Terry Peterson, during her lunch break. While it was sad because the bat was clearly ill, I will never forget Terry’s scream of terror when she saw it. Still makes me laugh.

What are three words you would use to describe Yuba Water?

Rewarding, collaborative and community.
