Hunters Against PETA By: Wyatt pryor

In the past couple of years, PETA has been really protesting against hunters. But hunters are now fighting back against PETA's negative view of hunting.

PETA protest.

Hunting has been in human culture to survive. According to historians, hunting and eating meat has been in our culture more than 2 million years.

First ever spear heads.

PETA keeps describing how hunters are so horrible that they miss how hunters give back to the environment. Here is some statistics on how we benefit from hunting.

  • Hunters have and continue to reintroduce and repopulate multiple big game and small game species into dozens of areas where the wildlife was killed off due to settlers.
  • Jobs related to the hunting industry account for $16.7 billion dollars in income every year.
  • Hunters donate thousands of pounds of venison every year to the needy and hungry.
  • 1 million jobs were created by the hunting industry.
  • Hunters continually raise and donate money to local charities.

PETA also claims that hunters are murdering all of the animals. This is false information

  • In 1907, only 41,000 elk remained in North America. Thanks to the money and hard work invested by hunters to restore and conserve habitat, today there are more than 1 million.
  • In 1900, only 500,000 whitetails remained. Thanks to conservation work spearheaded by hunters, today there are more than 32 million.
  • In 1900, only 100,000 wild turkeys remained. Thanks to hunters, today there are over 7 million.
  • In 1901, few ducks remained. Thanks to hunters’ efforts to restore and conserve wetlands, today there are more than 44 million.
  • In 1950, only 12,000 pronghorn remained. Thanks to hunters, today there are more than 1.1 million.

So now that you see what hunters do for the environment and the animals, I believe that not all hunters are bad.
