What is the New Evangelization? How did it start?

The church was born on the day of the Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came upon believers. ( Acts 2:1-6) The new Evangelization began when Pope Benedict XVI mentioned the crisis of Catholics losing their faith and relationship with God. He noticed this when the a Church began to have a decline in attendance at Mass. http://www.whatchristianswanttoknow.com/how-did-the-early-church-differ-from-the-church-today/

The new Evangelization wants Catholics to renew their relationship with Jesus Christ. The New Evangelization calls each of us to rejuvenate our faith, believe in the Gospel message and tell others the Gospel. http://www.usccb.org/beliefs-and-teachings/how-we-teach/new-evangelization/

Catholic Church origin began when Jesus Christ chooses Apostle Peter to be the foundation of the Church."And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (Mt 16:18-19)

After Jesus' Ressurection, he comes upon the Apostles stating And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.” (Mt 28:18-20) Jesus says the reason of the Catholic Church is to teach, sanctify, and govern.http://www.beginningcatholic.com/catholic-church-origin

What does it mean to be an Apostle of Christ? To be an apostle of Jesus Christ, literally speaking, is to be an envoy, ambassador, or messenger commissioned to carry out the instructions of the commissioners. In a more literal sense, it means to be an apostate of Jesus, wanting to spread his ideas and the word of God. http://www.biblestudytools.com/dictionary/apostle/

Spokesperson: Ms. Mastandrea

" Hello, My name is Christine Mastandrea and I am the proud Spokesperson of Live Like Jesus Campaign. I believe it is essential to attend mass because Church brings you closer to God and salvation, helps you with daily conflicts in your life, and gives fellowship. The decline in mass attendance is heartbreaking and I believe in you to make the attendance rise and bring back the ways of the Early Church. If you're not worshipping the Lord, you must be bored! #LiveLikeJesus"
