Clouds with Rain Living in and touching others with spirit and life

They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted--twice dead.

There are Christians who have very little to do with church. Yet they exude the life of God, without fuss and without airs. This does not mean that they are not accountable to others, or that they are not in relationship. It means they are more JESUS than Christian and more the manifestation of the person of Jesus than they are of religion. Life does not flow from behaviors or objects. It flows from Jesus.

Spirit/life flows into your being from the Trinity and into people and things you touch

'I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing' John 15.5 NIV.

A subtle delusion subdues our spirit when we imagine we are in Jesus because we are in church. Or because we have a program of good deeds. Our Godliness - better known as the spirit of sonship - is more basic and undergirding than anything we do. Rootedness in Father is the life of our deeds and the reason our efforts overflow with spirit and life. Or not. This is why busy-busy Christians can be rivers of sand while their un-fussed and peaceful colleagues are rivers of life, almost entirely without effort.

I'm amazed at the obsession some have with 'getting church right.' Like 'Let's juggle and jiggle all the churchy bits into an optimum arrangement and then we'll come alive." Right?

Getting Church Right!

Wrong. None of these derivatives have life in themselves. Only Jesus does. It's not rocket science. Jesus said, 'I am the way the truth and the life. Those who eat me will live because of me. Unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you have no life in you.' When He is our life we will be His church. So why do people rush around looking for a new form of church? Why do people fixate themselves on simple church and its formulae? Why do others go in to bat for the received institutionalism? Why do House Church aficionados begin with enthusiasm and two years later leave in frustration with a tired yawn and a yawning emptiness in their hearts? Because they are trying to draw life from the husk instead of the substance. Jesus alone is life.

Killing ourselves with pragmatism

'I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world' John 6.51 NIV. Are you eating Him or existing on card-board rissoles in company with those who bear card-board weapons?

There are people who abstain from meeting together because they are in rebellion against God. Then there are others who have little to do with organized church because they are in rebellion against junk religion. They can enjoy a more wholesome diet outside the paraphernalia of the Christian Industry. They live in Jesus daily. He is not an addition to their lives. He is their life. They drink living water and eat living bread. As a result their life together is the expression of Jesus. They witness to heaven, speak living words and have been liberated from the stereo-types and clich├ęs of religious talk. They have authority, unlike the 'scribes' and marketers of religion. This is the real meaning of the Body of Christ - those people who are the manifestation of Jesus in all their activities because they eat a daily diet of Jesus.

They drink living water and are living people - filled with spirit and life

Don't feed people church when their life is Christ.

Our real life is Christ. Our bogus life can be our immersion in the world system or in religion. Many folk begin a new fellowship intending to make new departures in outreach and witness. But this is not their most pressing need. They live in the separation they have been taught. Or in their Christian version of the knowledge of good and evil which is morality writ large with a dab of Jesus' help. Or in a mode of earning salvation through good works. Few live in God because they think this stuff, their routine is God. Not many are the effect of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit alive in their being. They have not been taught this. They do not know it and hence are not actually alive with His spirit and life. Of course they are in religion and this is what they multiply onto an unsuspecting public. Such people take offence when if told that there is much more of God available to them than what they have.

When Jesus is our life and we meet together we are His church. Feeding on Him and joined to Him we are the manifestation of His person. If this is not our life before we get to church pity help the church when we get there! This is the church He builds is His life manifest as us - His real body as compared to the dead body of the construct, the conceptual, religious notion of the Body. Christ in you and as you is both the hope and the present reality of His glory through you into the world.

On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. John 14.20 NIV. This Godliness. This clouds with rain and living water. Rivers of it.

Because Christ is your life you are spirit and life - never a dead person walking a religious person talking.
