The Great Depression was even more difficult for African Americans due to racism and segregation. The unemployment rate for African Americans was two to three times that of caucasians. They were always laid off before any white person was.

This song explains how Franklin D, Roosevelt created the New Deal which improved the lives of Americans and lowered the unemployment rate.
