Friday Night Stripes 2017 Spring football game

It wouldn't be a Memphis football game without Tiger Walk.

Coach Norvell and the Tigers were greeted by fans, cheerleaders, the Mighty Sound of the South, Pouncer and TOM III for the Tiger Walk.

The offense wore blue uniforms, the defense wore white uniforms, and the quarterbacks were in black uniforms.

Redshirt-freshman quarterback David Moore led the way Friday night with 244 yards passing and two touchdowns.

Brady Davis finished his night with 213 yards in the air and two touchdowns for the Tigers.

Riley Ferguson and the one-offense started the scrimmage off with a five-play, 75 yard drive resulting in a touchdown run by Darrell Henderson. Ferguson threw for 113 yards with one touchdown.

Mechane Slade (background photo) led all Memphis receivers with 104 yards on six catches and two touchdowns.

Doroland Dorceus finished the night with 52 yards on five carries.

The rushing game was led by Darrell Henderson who finished with 89 yards on seven carries and two touchdowns. Patrick Taylor, Jr. also added a pair of rushing touchdowns to the scoring efforts.

Pop Williams added 79 yards on six catches. Anthony Miller (90 yards on three receptions and a TD), Williams and Slade were the top three receivers on Friday.

The defense was highlighted with a pair of interceptions and a forced fumble.

The Tiger defense also tipped a few passes, one of which resulted in a 65 yard interception return by Austin Hall.

After two quarters of play, the overtime period featured a pair of guest coaches with the headsets. Gary Parrish's Playmakers edged Tom Schad's Fighting Schads, 15-14.

Friday Night Stripes ended with an autograph session on the field for fans in attendance.
