The Vision
A nationally recognized, elite facility to house Washburn Athletics. In addition to the adjacent track building, this 131,000-square foot facility will include a 110-yard turf field with markings for football and soccer and infields for baseball and softball. Netted cages will allow for hitting and pitching.
The Indoor Practice Facility will create a significant advantage for our coaches to continue to recruit top-notch student-athletes to our program.
Only Banked Track in DII
A 200-meter banked competition track will run parallel to the football field and have additional lanes for sprint and jump events. Flexible seating will allow more than 1,500 spectators to watch Washburn and national events held in the building. A facility of this magnitude will give our student-athletes– all 400 of them – the edge they need to compete athletically. Their success on the playing field and in the classroom will enhance Washburn Athletics, Washburn University, and the entire Topeka community.
