In my research that i looked up i found that the needles are determined by the condition of the trunk if the trunk is fertile that the needles will flourish but if the trunks mal-nourished then the needles will be vary space and dead looking.
This was a topic that was completely new to me I didn't even know anything about spruce trees and now I know that they are very unique organisms. I also learned that different plants have to accomplish different things to maintain homeostasis.
