Menlo XCTF February 2017 - Let the Season Begin

Personal records rain at Opener

After wading through stormy weather in training, the Oaks brought thunder and lightning to the beginning of the season.

Opening at De Anza College on February 25, the men's team showcased their potential to once again surprise the competition this season. Top performances included two event winners, along with a downpour of personal records.

Jonny Munkholm

High Jump - 6' 2", First Place

Triple Jump - 46' 4.25", Fourth Place, PR

Elijah Noel

Long Jump - 22' 11.25", First Place

Triple Jump - 45' 7.75", 6th Place

Joe Alvarez

Shot Put - 39' 10.5", 8th Place

Hammer Throw - 125' 3", 10th Place, PR

Noble Boutin

1500m - 4:16.15, 9th Place, PR

Elijah Redding-Moment

Triple Jump - 42' 2.25", 9th Place, PR

Not to be outdone, the women's team had several standout performances of their own, including...

Megan Thompson

1500m - 4:55.90, 2nd Place, PR

800m - 2:24.33, 4th Place

Dorian Aberouette

High Jump - 4' 11.75", 2nd Place

Javelin - 94' 9", 5th Place

The Oaks return to action on March 4 at the Kim Duyst Invitational hosted by Stanislaus State.

iNTRASQUAD CHALLENGE brings MENLO friends & family together

Before opening the season at De Anza, the Oaks shook off the rust and fine-tuned their skills on their home turf with the Oaks vs. Acorns Intrasquad Challenge. The Acorns would emerge victorious, dispatching the Oaks 74 - 54. However, safe to say that everyone who stuck around for the Family Day BBQ left a winner...
