the southern colonies were baptists and Anglicans. the Carolina's, Virginia and Maryland which was originally founded as a haven for Catholics.

the climate of southern colonies allowed them to grow rice and tobacco or other kinds of food and they if they grew tobacco you had to grow corn.

they had to grow food,tobacco and they used lumber to build houses. they grew wheat, fruit, vegetables and livestock.
