Ingoldsby Update december 14th 2020

School is very busy and festivities are well underway so I am gutted not to be able to finish off this year with the children and to wish everyone a 'Merry Christmas' in person.

I will be isolating for the remainder of the term following my daughter having a positive COVID-19 test at the weekend. I have followed DfE guidance and self isolated since Thursday evening.

Cover arrangements:

Our Assistant Principal, Jeanette Glendinning, will be happy to assist with any enquiries in school. I will be available by email unless I become unwell.

If your child is unwell, please keep them at home until recovered. If your child has a new persistent cough, loss of taste and smell or is hot to the touch/ has a temperature, self isolate and book a test. You should let us know the test result as soon as you can.

Further to guidance received from the DFE, we can confirm that when students or staff develop symptoms of Covid 19 on or before Sunday 20 December and test positive following these symptoms or have a test on or before Sunday 20 December if they are asymptomatic, the Academy will support in tracing close contacts and informing families where other children need to isolate. In line with DFE guidance, this service will be available up to and including Thursday 24 December (after this date, you should use the NHS Test and Track system). If this is the case, I ask that you email mcapes@ingoldsbyacademy.co.uk not the school email address which will not be manned over the holidays.

Please include in the email your child’s details along with the date they started to show symptoms, the date of the test and positive outcome. I will then take the necessary steps to identify and inform any close contacts.

If a child or staff member develops symptoms after Sunday 20 December, the Government guidance regarding testing and medical support should be followed; students and staff should follow contact-tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.
