Commuter students face extra challenges such as traffic and bad weather on their route to school that cause them to miss class, but they are still penalized, even though these circumstances are out of their control.
If commuter students were given a more lenient attendance policy, they would not be forced to face risky traffic or inclement weather to make it to class on time.
Students' safety and health are vitally important to Liberty, but when students are forced to face risks on the road, the health and safety of students are jeopardized.
The registrar's office at Liberty University should create a more lenient attendance policy for commuters. The benefit of this new policy would be that students are ensured a safer lifestyle.
