Entree at Ristorante Quinoa

Upon my visit to Quinoa, I got to enjoy my meal sitting outside in a courtyard. The environment of this restaurant just felt natural and refreshing. The produce used in the meals are very fresh and high-quality, with reasonable prices. When talking to the events manager, he explained that providing Florence with affordable options for specific eating habits was important in making it a success.

A very popular spot for healthy eating is #RAW. This small restaurant has an atmosphere different than most in Florence. It has the aura of a health bar you would easily find in Los Angeles, which explains the appeal for many study abroad students. At #RAW, they offer acai bowls, salads, vegan burgers and wraps as well as a variety of smoothies. The owner has a passion for providing healthy options and it is shown through her delicious food.

Mel Newton, 20, is a American student studying abroad in Florence.

" Eating pasta everyday can be really bad for your body, or at least mine. I wasn't feeling great and was dying to find something healthy. My friend told me about Raw and now I go a few times a week because they serve great options. The people that work at Raw are amazing and can tell they really care about what they are giving you," Newton said.

It is actually not too difficult to maintain a vegan, gluten-free vegetarian option in Florence. With diverse options for good quality restaurants accommodating to food restrictions, anyone in Florence will be satisfied. Along with quinoa and #RAW, the vegan community would recommend the menu at Il Carduccio, Crepapelle, and if you want to follow the American trend, check out Shake Cafe for some juices.
