This week our Junior School has joined with 1300 other Junior School students at our combined school day of worship. This is a day in our annual program that all our Adventist Schools in Sydney come together in a chapel style program.
The theme of the day was ‘Living Out Of The Box’ with the Toy Maker. Take the time to speak to your children about the day and the messages they received about how special they are to God.
Blessings upon your homes.
Thank you and Farewell....

Our current banking co-ordinators will do handover, so if you are able to spare a couple of hours, and be on-site, please email the office on email@example.com so your details can be passed on.

This semester Year 2 learnt about safety and electricity through the lessons and video clips provided by Ausgrid. This learning was integrated into our art lessons and all of Year 2 created a poster that gave an electrical safety message. Quite a few Year 2 students had their posters entered into the electricity safety poster competition run by Ausgrid. To our excitement, one of our students won first prize for the poster competition in the Kindy-Year 2 age group.
A huge congratulations to Ariana N, whose detailed painting below of where and where not to fly your kite, won first prize!

Beyond our School Yard - Christmas Gifts
As a school we like to teach our children charitable services so every year we run a program called Beyond Our School Yard.
Can you believe it is already November! The shops are filled with Christmas decorations and no doubt the Christmas carols will start to echo around very soon. For many children this is an exciting time of the year but unfortunately for others due to personal circumstances and situations there are no Christmas trees nor presents.
As part of our initiative to encourage our children to consider others, ‘Beyond our school yard’ (part of our School Committee and run in conjunction with our SRC) is supporting two charities to help spread joy this Christmas time.
For the fifth year running we will be supporting Operation Christmas Child (OCC) – sending a shoebox of gifts to those in need overseas. Last year we provided over 130 boxes which was a great effort, overall the NSW branch of OCC sent 97,000 gifts overseas. We are hoping that this year our school community can provide 200 gift-filled shoe boxes to children.
In addition, this year we will also be collecting gifts for a community in Northern NSW which has been severely affected by drought.
This is what the country side looks like all across that area. Nothing but dirt.!!!
Please encourage your child to take home a box to fill or drop in an unwrapped gift for our drought affected area (or both!). The SRC will be taking boxes and information around each classroom. Alternatively, they can drop in a gift or pick up a Christmas box from the Christmas Tree in the office which will be set up next week!
Any questions in relation to this event, please contact Mel Harris email@example.com
Ice Skating Social Night
On Saturday night over 70 of us came together to enjoy a night of ice skating. It was a fantastic night on the ice with lots of fun, laughs and a few falls along the way. Some brave parents took to the ice to show us how skating is really done. During the night we were able to mix with friends from Prep to Year 10 and there was a lovely community spirit. Thank you to the Home and School for organising the night. We look forward to the next event where we can come together as a school community.
