Instructions

We understand that physically making it to church on Sunday morning isn't always easy. While we strongly believe that a regular routine of worship is important to growing as a follower of Jesus, we also believe that sometimes worship can look different than a typical church service on Sunday morning. We hope this guided worship opportunity will allow space for you to feel connected to worship in a new way, even when you're on vacation, physically unable to make it to church, or just have a lot on your plate. In this guided worship you will be able to listen to the same music that we're singing on Sunday mornings, discuss the same text, and participate in children's activities with the entire family.

Introduction

Rev Mary Hulst will be back with us this Sunday to teach from Phillipians 3. She'll be discussing the concept of pressing on, and how to keep going when the going gets tough. We're excited to have Rev Hulst back with us this Sunday!

Invitation - Philippians 3:12-16

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained.

Discuss

  1. What did you like about the text?
  2. What did you find difficult in the text?
  3. What did this text teach us about God?
  4. What did this text teach us about ourselves?
  5. Is there anything I am supposed to do after reading this text?
  6. Is there anyone He wants me to share this with?

Give

Evergreen is working hard to continue to care well for our church and our community. Like many businesses, families, and organizations, the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 virus put churches in a difficult financial situation. If you would like to give financially in the weeks in which we are unable to gather, you can do so by clicking this button:

Be Blessed – Romans 15:5-6

May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
