RACE HIGHLIGHTS June 2019

This race weekend consisted of hot desert temperatures, a huge grid, and Spring Mountain’s long-awaited 15th Anniversary party. Friday morning, temperatures rose quickly into the mid-90s, but that didn’t discourage our racers! 22 LSR drivers and 12 Sports Cars competed on the Mansell (B) 3.5-mile course on Friday, followed by 21 LSRs and 15 Sports Cars on Saturday. Congratulations to LSR3 driver Mitch Bishop for his skilled racing; he secured pole position, fastest lap and 1st place during all three races! It was a busy weekend for everyone involved and a fantastic way to say goodbye as we start our 2-month summer racing hiatus.

Friday night as members and guests arrived at the Clubhouse for dinner, they were welcomed by an entrance of exotic cars and further treated to Blue Marble Cocktails throughout the night. With a guest list of over 175 people, the Clubhouse and surrounding area was full of excitement as everyone joined in on the fun of taking photos, racing cars on an RC track, and enjoying music from DJ Rico Rox. It was great to see so many members, both old and new, with their families and friends, reminiscing on 15 years of incredible racing, growth and innovation. John Morris acknowledged Jeffrey Cheng and Doug Ramirez with “2019 Champion of Spring Mountain” award plaques commemorating our sincere appreciation for their outstanding contributions in making the Club as successful as it is today. We want to thank everyone that came to celebrate with us and also thank the staff that worked so hard on all the little details. It was an unforgettable event! Check out the photos below!
