March 14- March Madness Sports Shirt Day
March 15- Hat Day
March 16- Report Cards Distributed (please sign and return the envelope, any papers inside are yours to keep)
March 17- No School (snow make-up day if needed)
March 23- Spring Picture Day- We will have a class picture taken (money must be sent on this day if you would like to order one) and individual pictures will also be taken (All students will have a picture taken, then a packet of pictures will be sent home in a few weeks for you to purchase what you want and return money/any pictures you do not wish to purchase. If you would prefer your child to NOT have their individual picture taken, simply send in a note or email me.
March 27- Vocabulary Day- Dress in a way that explains the definition of a word
March 28- College Shirt/Sweatshirt Day
March 29- Backwards/Inside Out Day
March 30- Super Hero Day
March 31- WM T-Shirt Day
This week in Kindergarten...
There will be a substitute teacher in all this week because I have been called for jury duty and was unable to get out of it. Please remind your student each day to be a STAR student for the substitute and that the same rules apply while I am gone. I am hoping with your helpful reminder at home they will be able to adjust to the change easier. Thank you!
While I am out...
We will start learning about the -in rhyme chunk.
We will start our unit on living and nonliving things. We we learn what makes something a living thing and what they need to survive. We will sort pictures of living and nonliving things. We will also learn how animals and plants change over time, how offspring resemble their parents and how special body parts help animals and plants survive. We will learn about LOTS of different kinds of plants and animals during the last few months of school!
In math we will work on 3D shapes, using the calculator to count and skip count and how to balance a rocker balance.
In writing we will work on cause/effect and write two different stories. One telling the effect finding a pot of gold would have and the other telling what we would like to find if we could travel over the rainbow! We are also working on writing at least 2 sentences for each story, using spaces and sounding out more words on our own.
