FLORIDIAN FRIENDLY FACES

Prior to the Central District Invitational, the University of Louisville Women's Golf Team was able to spend a few days playing and practicing at PGA National. We were even joined by some very special guests! Special thanks to Laura Restrepo, Cindy LaCrosse and Steve Sedita for helping us prepare for the Spring! CENTRAL DISTRICT INVITATIONAL

The ladies earned their third top-five finish of the season at the Central District Invitational (hosted by Michigan State) in Port St. Lucie, Florida. They finished Third out of 14 teams. Lauren Hartlage finished Fourth at two-over-par over her three rounds at St. Lucie Trail Golf Club. Molly Skapik and Olivia Cason also recorded top-15 finishes.

HURRICANE INVITATIONAL

Freshman Lauren Hartlage recorded a Runner-Up finish at four-under-par as the Team finished Third among 15 teams in a strong field at the Hurricane Invitational. The tournament was hosted by Miami and played at the Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, Florida. The Cardinals' three-day score (+7) is a season best and tied for Eigth-best in school history.

BRIAR'S CREEK INVITATIONAL

The ladies are back in action at the Briar's Creek Invitational in John's Island, South Carolina March 20-21. The tournament is hosted by College of Charleston and live scoring is available via Golfstat.com.

IRON CARDINAL

Each year, each sport at the University of Louisville awards the "Iron Cardinal" for excellence in strength and conditioning. The University of Louisville Women's Golf Team is proud to announce their 2017 Iron Cardinal is Sophomore Olivia Cason! Don't mess with O!

CARDINAL FOREVER UPDATE

CANDICE ICEMAN

Candice Iceman (nee Wiley, a 2013 graduate) is teaching at Eminence Independent School in Henry County, Kentucky. She teaches grades K-12 phyiscal education and health. She just completed her Rank 1 (30 more hours than her Masters). She will also be coaching golf at Shelby County High School this fall! She and her husband Daniel (a UofL Men's Golf alumni) have a fur baby - Maggie, a golden retriever.

CINDY POPOWICH

Cindy Popowich (nee Pasechnik, a 2003 graduate) is working for Phillips 66 in Calgary as a Crude Oil Scheduler. Upon graduation from UofL she played the mini-tours from 2004-2007 and the LPGA in 2007 and 2008. She also obtained her MBA in Finance from the University of Calgary. She and her husband, David have twins - Hugo and Payton, who just turned one at the end of January.
