An Athlete and a Plan. Athlete Spotlight: Karen Bellapianta

Karen Joined AP Racing with a previous Ironman best time of 14:32:16.

In her Previous Ironman PR, Karen

Swam 1:26:50, biked 7:53:21 and ran 4:50:41

FOR IMAZ, Karen and the AP RACING TEAM Focused on WEEKEND 'STACKS' and Consistent, Repeatable Training.

This is one strategy we found works well with a lot of our age group athletes

For 8 weeks, we did 8 hours per weekend of riding(some running too).

The weeks varied from 4 hours each day to one of the last weekends which was 7 hours one day and 1 hour the other.

On race day, Karen was ready!

She Swam 1:14:47

More than 12 minutes faster than her PR

SHE BIKED 6:02:14

An astonishing 1 hour and 52 Minutes faster than her PR

And She Ran 4:25:12

More than 25 minutes faster than her PR

Karen Finished in 11:49:43

2 Hours and 43 Minutes faster than her PR!

KAREN IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF WHAT IT MEANS TO PUSH YOUR POTENTIAL AND HOW CONSISTENT, SPECIFIC AND FOCUSED TRAINING CAN MAKE YOU BETTER THAN YOU EVER THOUGHT POSSIBLE.

CONGRATS KAREN, WE HAVE NOTICED AND OTHERS HAVE TOO!

Join Karen and the rest of the AP Racing Team
