Children and Cell Phones by: Olivia Lackey

At what age is it okay to get your child a cell phone?

I think 6th grade is the youngest I would be willing to go in order for my child to have a cell phone. Why is that you ask? Well here's why.

Believe it or not early usage of cell phones is linked to lower academic level due to poor reading comprehension and weak writing skills

Early cell phone use is also linked to behavioral problems

It can also affect your social skills.

Cell phones at a young age can effect a child future in many ways. It can effect them socially and academically. Children should wait until they are developed socially and mature enough.
