We have our final months of the year ahead of us with lots of fun projects and events planned!

Activity Reports Are Due April 10th!!

Has your club completed activity reports yet?

If not get them done soon!

Be sure to send in a copy to the district chair, governor, your lt governor, and your sponsor club liaison.

District Officer Elections

Elections for 2018-2019 District Officers will take place at our District Meeting on April 14th.

Nominations are due to Ms. Carmen no later than April 6th

If you are interested in running for an International District Office position, contact Ms. Carmen no later than April 6th

District Convention

Our annual district convention will be held at the Ronald McDonald house in Falls Church, VA

Cost for attendance is $10 including lunch

We will be hearing speeches from our District Officer candidates, voting for our officers, completing a service project, presenting awards, and having fun!

Emily Kicker, Junior Civitan Membership Specialist from Civitan International will be our special guest. You don't want to miss the opportunity to meet and talk with Emily about all things Junior Civitan!

District and International Awards

District Award submissions are due no later than April 6th. Make sure you are recognizing all the amazing projects you have done this year along with all the outstanding individuals, advisors, officers, sponsor club liaisons who have helped you.

All the details on awards, how to submit, and the judging criteria is on our website in our Awards Manual.

International Convention

June 21 – 24, 2018; Tupelo, MS

All Junior Civitans, Advisors and Sponsor Club Liaisons are encouraged to attend. There are new officer training workshops this year, so if you’ve been before, you’ll want to see what is new! Election of 2018-2019 International Officers will be held – anyone running must be present! There will be a Service Project – Carnival for differently-abled individuals; as a district we need to decide what booth we want to manage at the Carnival. Make sure to give us your ideas when you pre-register. The Cost is $230 Registration for Junior Civitans, plus the cost of airfare.

District T-Shirt Contest

The winning design of our District T-Shirt contest was by designed by:

World Down Syndrome Day

On 03/21 many of our members wore mis-matched socks in honor of World Down Syndrome Awareness Day!

Dance-A-Thon Recap

Four members from the Chesapeake District attended Dance-a-thon the weekend of March 10th. All dance participants successfully danced for 12 hours! The event raised over $50,000 for the Civitan International Research Center!
