Pastors' Corner

Junior School Week of Worship & Colin Buchanan

What a great week we had with our theme

‘Under The Sea.’

The students enjoyed our speaker Pr Nick Kross Jnr who shared with them about different animals that are found in the ocean and how God had made them all different and unique.

To end off a great 'Week of Worship' we had a special concert last Friday night with Christian Children’s performer - Colin Buchanan.

Also the School was involved in leading out in the Remembrance Day Service at Wahroonga Church. This was well attended and once again our students lead out with dignity, respect and pride, fitting for such a sombre and meaningful occasion.

Home and School News

Thank you to all the families and teachers who attended the Sunset Garden Party last Thursday evening. It was a great evening for the school community. A special thank you to the Year 5, 7 & 8 students who helped throughout the whole evening.

This is an initiative supported by our Home and School Committee and the Student Representative Council. The role of which is to bring attention to and focus on those in need outside of our own community. This term we will be encouraging our children to provide Christmas gifts to others.

For the third year running we will be supporting Operation Christmas Child –sending a shoe box of gifts to those in need overseas. Last year we provided over 130 boxes which was a great effort! Boxes and instructions will be available shortly.

In addition, this year we will be offering assistance to the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal providing gifts for Australian children through the Salvation Army and Mission Australia. A Christmas tree will be set up in the School in November which will have gift cards listing specific present and age group required for you to take and return with a gift.

Any questions in relation to these two projects, please contact Mel Harris from the Home and School Committee melinda@spect.com.au or Mr Crabtree.
