A Message from Xcel Energy About COVID-19 Impacts
Dear Community and Business Leaders,
During these important times, Xcel Energy is squarely focused on ensuring that essential services, necessary to meet the needs of those in our communities continue to operate safely and smoothly. The energy grid is a key part of the nation’s critical infrastructure, so we continue to respond efficiently to outages if they occur, and we’re prioritizing other work to focus on the most critical projects. As always, safety is our top priority and we’re taking steps — and will take additional steps as needed — to protect our employees and the public.
Recently some of our critical employees working in the field have encountered aggressive and threatening actions from customers. We understand this is a stressful time for all of us and safety and health are our priorities. We are taking a moment to remind everyone of our current safety protocols and give you an update to ensure we are doing the best we can in protecting our workers and our customers.
Because of these recent interactions we have requested the help of The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to reiterate our ability to work during this time.
On that note, I would like to share a few updates on our actions related to COVID-19. Read more from Tom Henley - Area Manager, Community and Local Government Affairs.
