Black Mountain Elementary School Preparing students for the global stage

The closing of a school year provides major opportunities for reflection and introspection. This past year has provided that in droves. I want to say thank you for your trust and partnership this year as we navigated uncharted waters. I am amazed at the resiliency of our students and the tremendous work of our staff! I know that I say it often but I am not sure I can say it enough - I am so very proud to be your principal and so very excited for the opportunities ahead. Have a wonderful summer!!!

A few pictures from the last week of Preschool. What a fun year or watching this group learn and grow!
More camping fun...our Kindergartners were busy making constellations, fishing for sight words, using flashlights to find bats, reading and telling stories inside the tent, creating camp necklaces and painting snakes....what a great day!!
Some pictures of 4th grade fun from the final days of school!
5th grade students built wagons and put them to the test. The students added weight to the wagons and pulled them up a steep, bumpy slope. Really a fun learning experience!!! The finalists are in the bottom four pictures.
Our Preschool students were AMAZING this year!!! It was so fun to see them graduate!
Kindergarten graduation is just one of those moments that mark a milestone in life. With this wonderful group, I have great hope in the future.
A special thank you to the Anderson family for these custom pickleball paddles. How cool is that!!!
We always love recognizing our amazing students! Each quarter, students are selected from each class for their dedication to academics and their consistent great character. These students were very deserving!!!!! Way to go!!!!
Dr. Monroe visited BMES to recognize one of Black Mountain’s best. During her years at BMES, Reese stayed true to herself and showed that even kids can make a difference in the world. Reese was awarded with a certificate and recognized for dedicating countless hours of her time to serving our community. We know she is destined for great things.

6th Grade Final Walk

At the end of each year, our 6th grade students take their final lap around the BMES campus to say goodbye to the place they have known for years. The students hand out letters of thanks to staff members who made a difference to them while the entire school comes out to cheer them on. It is always hard to say goodbye but we are excited to see what they do during their next journey at STMS.
“How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” - A.A. Milne

A special thank you to Harold’s for catering the end of year BMES teacher breakfast! The breakfast burritos were delicious! Thank you for always being a true supporter of our school!!!

Check out these awesome summer opportunities!!!!

Thank you doesn’t even begin to cover it....

During what has undoubtedly been the most challenging of academic years, you, our Bobcat Nation, never failed to show your tremendous support, generosity, and love for our amazing BMES students and staff.

While so many things did not look the same this year, One thing never changed. Our amazing families stepped up when it counted the most....providing necessities, nice-to-haves, and most of all, allowing us to make memories for our kiddos and deserving staff.

When this whole thing started over a year ago, we made it out mantra that we would “Get through this...together.” And while we are not fully out of the woods yet, we certainly seem to be well on the path of reaching that goal.

And we couldn’t have done it without your continued support. The support of this amazing Bobcat Family. So....THANK YOU! And we can’t wait to see everyone back in the halls, on the field, and in the classroom very, very, soon!!

Cheers to an amazing Summer Break and Be Well!
