Seeing this artwork in person made me appreciate the medium and intricacy of the sculpture that a photograph would not let me see. The folds of the stone shows the flame like qualities of the sculpture. The techniques used allowed me to see the fire in the stone.
The Modern Collection allowed me to appreciate the paintings by various artists. The open spaces allowed me to be able to look across the room and find a painting that I enjoy looking at. The groups of paintings on the wall helped me flow from one piece of artwork to the other. Of all the mediums and styles of art, I enjoy paintings the most. Having a room of different styles of paintings by different artists allowed me to see the things I like.
The artwork of Frida Kahlo's family resonated with my core values. Family is an important part in my life and in the decisions I make. Looking at photographs of her family made me think of mine. It made me feel both happy and sad. I miss my family, but it made me think of the happy memories that we share.
