Event RESource Library

The KGH Event Resource Library contains a repository on every Active Shooter Incident since August 1, 1966, when Charles Whitman opened fire from the University of Texas Tower in Austin, killing 17 and wounding 31 others. That was the first Active Shooter Incident of the modern era. From that first Active Shooter Incident through April 2019, there are 508 Active Shooter Incidents, killing 1,558, wounding 2,374, and affecting millions more. Significant Active Shooter Incidents will also include a Biographical Summary on the Active Shooter detailing their Pathway to Violence. Below is some of the analysis produced by KGH derived from a comprehensive study of the Case Summaries, After Action Reports, and other products contained within the Event Resource Library.

KGH believes that a prepared and engaged individual is the best defense to any active threat. Replacing fear with confidence to react without hesitation can dramatically change the outcome when an ordinary day turn extraordinary.

When An Ordinary Day Turned Extraordinary

"I'm not a hero. I'm just a regular person. I think anybody could've did what I did if they're just pushed in that kind of cage, and you either react or you're going to, you know, fold." - James Shaw Jr. who disarmed a shooter who opened fire at a Waffle House in April 2018
